PACOPAD

PACOPAD is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by parents of adults with disabilities living in Passaic County, New Jersey. These disabilities may include:

• Autism
• Cerebral Palsy
• Down Syndrome
• Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
• Intellectual Disabilities
• And other developmental conditions

Our mission began with a shared experience: when our children graduate from school—typically between the ages of 18 and 21—the support systems they’ve relied on begin to change. This transition period is critical, and families must navigate new service options, often with limited guidance. PACOPAD exists to help bridge that gap, advocate for meaningful resources, and build a stronger, more inclusive community for adults with disabilities.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, PACOPAD is committed to empowering families and adults with developmental disabilities through a range of supportive services and community-building activities:

• Resource Guidance: Assistance in selecting a qualified service coordinator and navigating available services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVR).
• Special Events: Inclusive social and recreational events designed for young adults with developmental disabilities to foster connection, joy, and community engagement.
• Parent-to-Parent Support: A compassionate network of families offering shared experiences, emotional support, and practical advice.
• Workshops & Educational Activities: Informative sessions for parents and caregivers covering topics such as transition planning, advocacy, service navigation, and more.
